Most People don’t know this but…

We actually met living in Houston, TX when Autumn was 9 years old and Matt was 14. It wasn’t until almost 10 years later that we were married and traveling the world together but it’s still a fun fact!

We got married in October of 2016 and took our very first international trip together, to the AMAZING Beloved hotel, Playa Mujeres Mexico. We were just kids and had no idea what this trip would awaken for us! While we were dating we had talked a lot about travel and the places that each of us had grown up always wanting to visit! When we got married, we were determined to spend our early years of marriage traveling as much as we could. After all, we knew that if we were going to see the world, now was the time and there would probably never be an easier time to do it! This was confirmed for us over and over by friends who said they wished they had taken advantage of the early years of being together to travel. So we set out to making our ultimate bucket list and started to figure out how we were going to pull it off!

Now fast forward 3 years (at the time of writing this), and we now have figured out that you DON’T have to spend a crap ton of money to travel. There has arguably never been a better time in history for travel than right now! Between highly competitive flight prices, Credit Card points programs, and a million travel blogs sharing their unique approaches, we are quite possibly living in the golden years of travel right now!

Currently we have visited 8 different countries and have several more on our list for the coming year! We started this blog because we feel like we need to get the word out the traveling is not what it used to be, and it’s not a science to figuring out how to travel for cheap!

We honestly want to help people make their life-long travel dreams a reality, so we started Art of Travel!
